Biography
The Novelists, a Reno, Nevada folk-rock ensemble distinguished by its lyrical focus, melodic emphasis, and multifaceted style, features several lead singers supported by precise four-part harmonies. Influences spanning Ben Folds, the Beatles, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Elton John, Genesis, and Weezer shape the sound of the quartet built around core members Joel Ackerson, Eric Andersen, Zack Teran, and Miguel Jimenez-Cruz. Their first release, Backstory, appeared in 2012, with Book 1 arriving in 2014; two years afterward the group delivered the ambitious, crowd-funded double-LP Breaking the Script.
