Biography
Thomas Azier, who was born in the Netherlands and now resides in Berlin, produces synth pop that balances atmospheric moodiness with vigorous energy, foregrounding his strong vocal presence. He relocated to the German capital at 19 to launch his career in music and soon became embedded in its techno and club environments. Discontented with much of the electronic music around him, Azier turned to composing and laying down his own songs. Universal issued his first full-length album, Hylas, in 2014. His second album, Rouge, followed three years afterward and spotlighted the singles “Gold” and “Talk to Me.” The subsequent full-length Stray, which he wrote and recorded during tours, appeared in 2018.
