Blending indie electronica with alternative R&B, funk, hip-hop, and South Asian sounds, the London-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Ben Khan first displayed his boundary-crossing approach through the 2014 EP 1992, whose title reflects his year of birth.

Khan had already acquired an older keyboard and a guitar during his preteen years and soon began tracking material in Cubase. Local performances began around age twelve, coinciding with his relocation from Oxfordshire to London. At fifteen he lost his mother to cancer and turned more intently toward music alongside a growing passion for cinema. Following secondary school he briefly attended Leeds University to study music before concluding that formal study did not suit him.

Independently he issued the single “Drive, Pt. 1” in 2013 at age twenty. The debut EP 1992 arrived the next year on Blessed Vice and accumulated millions of streams. He followed with the 1000 EP in 2015, after which he withdrew from public view to refine his sound without external commentary.

For his first full-length album Khan joined the Dirty Hit roster and worked alongside noted British producer Flood, whose credits include Depeche Mode and PJ Harvey. His return came in April 2018 with the track “2000 Angels,” followed by additional previews in subsequent months; he also directed every video accompanying the project.
