Twin Twin

Twin Twin, an eccentric and extravagant threesome, earned the unwanted distinction of becoming the first French act to finish at the bottom of the Eurovision Song Contest after appearing in the 2014 edition. The group came together in Montreuil on the eastern outskirts of Paris, where Lorent Idir, François Djemel, and Patrick Biyik began merging their electro pop approach in 2009. Their energetic sound and theatrical inventiveness drew interest from Warner Music in France, which issued the trio’s debut album Vive la Vie in 2013. A year of international touring that took in festivals and concerts in Columbia, Canada, and Spain led to their selection as France’s entry for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen. Performing “Moustache,” they received only two points and placed last. The track was later issued as a single and reached the Top 100 in the U.K., Sweden, Ireland, and Austria.
