Biography
Known for placing third on the 2011 season of NBC’s The Voice, Tacoma, Washington native Vicci Martinez works as a soulful singer-songwriter with an acoustic focus. She began appearing on stage at thirteen and has issued multiple independent albums since then. At sixteen she secured an audition for Fox’s American Idol yet chose not to continue with the program. Before her time on The Voice she had already competed on the 2003 season of Star Search. In 2011 she made her final competition performance, the original song “Afraid to Sleep,” available as a digital release. Once the show concluded, Martinez played numerous concerts across the Washington area and issued the live album Live from Jazzbones. The 2012 EP Come Along contained a guest vocal from Cee Lo Green, her coach on The Voice.
