Biography
The arrival of Winans Phase 2 signaled the rise of a fresh wave from one of modern gospel’s foremost lineages. Marvin Jr., Michael Jr., Carvin III, and Juan Winans, sons of the original Winans brothers and nephews of the BeBe and CeCe Winans duo, made up the ensemble. Still teenagers when they came together in 1998, the four Detroit natives first assembled to film a series of television segments for the city’s local NBC affiliate before promptly securing a contract with Myrrh and delivering their debut album, We Got Next, in 1999.
