Born Alexander Theo Linnet, Xander emerged as a dance-pop performer whose early success placed him regularly on Danish charts once his debut single, "Det Burde Ikk Være Sådan Her," claimed the top spot in 2010. He is the child of Danish singer/songwriter Anne Linnet and model Mads Buhl Nielsen.

After signing with the Danish label ArtPeople during his early twenties, Linnet issued the yearning track "Det Burde Ikk Være Sådan Her" ("It Should Not Be Like This") toward the close of 2010. Entering Denmark’s singles chart at number 25, the release later held the summit for two weeks. It formed part of his debut album, Over Skyer, Under Vand, which surfaced in early 2011 and climbed to number nine on the national album ranking.

September 2012 marked the start of Xander’s tenure as a coach on season two of the television contest Voice – Danmarks Største Stemme, where he joined returning panelists Lene Nystrøm of Aqua, Sharin Foo of the Raveonettes, and rapper L.O.C. Before year’s end he unveiled his second studio LP, Hvis Jeg Skrev Dig en Sang, which also entered the Top Ten and reached a peak of number seven. Plans for his subsequent project encountered postponement after he transferred to the Universal-affiliated imprint Labelmade Records. The resulting 2016 EP Indre By ("Inner City") restored the artist to the Top Ten and secured a nomination for Danish Songwriter of the Year at the 2017 Danish Music Awards.
