Even during the late 1990s surge of youth-focused marketing, the trend reached beyond pop when country performer Adam Gregory issued his first album at age fifteen. The Edmonton native had already spent years pursuing music, drawing early notice before his teens and inking a Sony contract at fourteen. Mid-2001 brought the arrival of that debut, The Way I'm Made, which earned positive reviews and solid sales across Canada. Four singles climbed into the domestic Top Ten—“Horseshoes,” “Only Know I Do,” “No Vacancy,” and “Big Star”—each enjoying comparable rotation on country video outlets. Gregory collected two Juno Award nominations, four Canadian Country Music Awards, and tour slots alongside The Wilkinsons, Paul Brandt, and Lonestar. A year later came the follow-up, Workin' On It, which contained the Billy Ray Cyrus duet “When I Leave This House.”
