Aldebaran

Hailing from Portland, Oregon, the doom metal outfit Aldebaran takes its name from one of the night sky's most luminous stars yet confines itself to the genre's murkiest territories. The group's expansive compositions inhabit the frozen desolation of funeral doom, conjuring profound isolation through their unhurried tempos and expansive, empty sonic landscapes. Their debut album, Dwellers in Twilight, surfaced in 2007 via Parasitic Records. Subsequent split releases alongside Zoroaster and Unearthly Trance preceded the arrival of a follow-up full-length, Embracing the Lightless Depths, issued by Profound Lore in 2012.
