Biography
All Hail the Yeti, a heavy metal outfit based in Los Angeles, California, crafts a robust fusion of groove-laden Southern sludge and stoner metal with hook-driven metalcore, channeling Mastodon through the lens of Slipknot. The ensemble, which surfaced during the latter part of the 2000s, unveiled its campfire horror and woodsy folklore-inspired strain of needle-pushing hard rock via the self-titled full-length debut that arrived in 2012. Having formed in 2006, the musicians devoted their early years to sharpening their approach while naming Eyehategod, Acid Bath, Down, and Mötley Crüe among their influences. Once the lineup settled around vocalist Connor Garritty, bassist/vocalist Nicholas Diltz, drummer Ryan Kittlitz, and guitarist Alan Stokes, the band signed with AFM Records and delivered its first long player, 2012’s All Hail the Yeti. The group then moved to Minus Head Records for its sophomore release, 2016’s Scream from a Black Wilderness, produced by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Deftones). Grammy-winning producer Warren Riker (Down, Crowbar) was enlisted for the third album, 2018’s Highway Crosses.
