Angélica Vale, born Angelica Maria Vale Hartman as the child of Mexican celebrity Angélica Maria and comedian Raúl Vale, launched her dual career as a singer and actress in the early 1980s through appearances in the Latin soap opera Muñeca Rota (Broken Doll) and the film La Guerra de Los Pasteles (the Pie's War). In 1980 she partnered with her grandmother, producer Angélica Ortíz, on the children-oriented musical Zoila Sonrisas. She next formed the teen pop group El Club de la Amistad (the Friends Club) and took a lead role in the hit Mexican series Lupita, though her true breakthrough arrived with her involvement in the musical Vaselina (Grease). Her first solo album appeared on CBS in 1988, followed by Nuestro Show No Puede Parar and Atrapada En Los Sesentas.
