Hailing from California, Anjali Ranadivé performs under the moniker Anjali World as a skilled R&B singer and songwriter who also pursues marine conservation, weaving electronic dance, Bollywood, and hip-hop elements throughout her work. She entered the world in 1992 within the San Francisco Bay Area as the child of Indian-American businessman Vivek Ranadivé and American philanthropist Debra Addicott, raised in a household that valued creativity and social engagement. Two early fascinations took hold during childhood: one for marine life sparked by repeated family outings to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and later reinforced through employment at conservation centers and animal shelters, the other for pop music nurtured by her mother's enthusiasm for musical theater. Singing entered her life first through maternal guidance before she honed her abilities in a local women's chorus, while hip-hop and R&B reached her ears by observing her brother craft tracks in his home studio. Her drive to safeguard marine animals ultimately guided her academic path, culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology earned from UC Berkeley in 2013. She then established the marine wildlife conservation nonprofit Jaws & Paws. Music remained a parallel pursuit, shaped by the sounds of Lauryn Hill, Aaliyah, and TLC alongside Bollywood musicals and classical Indian traditions, leading to open-mike appearances and a self-produced mixtape. After completing her studies she moved to Los Angeles, where, now billed as Anjali World, she attracted the notice of manager and producer Dave Knott, known as Super Dave, who mentored her and refined her sonic direction. The year 2014 brought her debut single "We Turn Up," which featured rapper French Montana. She followed a year later with the EP Brave New World, containing the tracks "Nobody" featuring Tyga and "Bad Boy Good."
