Biography
In late 2006, guitarist Simon Füllemann—previously active in Cataract, Damage ID, and multiple other groups—established the Swiss outfit Arma Gathas. Over the following three years he tracked demos with an array of supporting players across numerous countries worldwide, in search of the precise musical direction and collaborator capable of realizing his vision, until he connected with vocalist Ché Snelting, formerly of Born From Pain. The pair swiftly completed the roster by recruiting lead guitarist Marc Niedersberg of Machinemade God and Cornelius, drummer Max van Winkelhof formerly of Disloyal, and bassist Alex ‘Lahnsteiner' Härtel, securing a recording contract with Metal Blade Records. Arma Gathas then recorded its first full-length effort, Dead to This World, issued in 2010, which presented an arresting fusion of thrash, groove metal, and hardcore.
