Biography
Hailing from Grande Prairie, Alberta, Arrival of Autumn operates as a Canadian melodic metalcore ensemble. The group derived its name from an Opeth lyric, one among multiple touchstones that encompass Metallica, Dream Theater, Between the Buried and Me, and Bullet for My Valentine. Its roster includes Jamison Friesen on vocals, Brendan Anderson and Ryan Sorensen on guitar, Liam Frith on bass, and Ty Fox on drums.
The band built a loyal regional audience prior to self-releasing its debut album, Shadows, in 2014. Five years later Harbinger surfaced with heightened force and intricacy, drawing Nuclear Blast’s notice. The label promptly signed the act and paired it with producer Mark Lewis (Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel) for its next project. Kingdom Undone followed in 2023, delivering an uncompromisingly heavy set of songs that retained its predecessor’s melodic hallmarks and haunting sonic vistas.
