Bfb Da Packman first drew widespread notice through his blunt, humorous rhymes on the 2020 single “Free Joe Exotic,” a joint effort with Sada Baby. Further team-ups with Wiz Khalifa, Lil Yachty, and 03 Greedo continued to expand his reach in hip-hop, all while he maintained a day job as a mailman outside the studio.

Born Tyree Jawan Thomas in Flint, Michigan, in 1995, he adopted the moniker Bfb, short for “Big F*ckin’ Baby,” and viewed rap as a route out of his surroundings. A turbulent childhood featured drug sales and recovery from a gunshot wound to the leg; at his lowest, firearms and narcotics charges placed him on probation. Once that period concluded, he resolved to change course in 2015, following relatives to Houston and securing steady employment at the Post Office while recording mixtapes and freestyles.

His often profane, self-mocking lyricism, along with videos that showcased his sizable frame shirtless, began gaining traction after the 2018 track “Snack Time,” which prompted reactions from Kanye West, Kodak Black, and others. The song landed on his debut mixtape God Blessing All the Fat N****s, which also included the lighthearted Drake nod “Aubrey I Need You on This Song.”

Momentum built further following the 2019 mixtape STD, propelled by the comedic “Free Joe Exotic” collaboration with Detroit rapper Sada Baby that arrived amid the 2020 Netflix documentary Tiger King. The track became a genuine viral hit and served as a centerpiece on his 2021 debut album Fat N****s Need Love Too, which included guest spots from Wiz Khalifa, Benny the Butcher, and Lil Yachty. A series of strong 2023 singles—“Grocery Freestyle,” “Delulu,” and “Kentucky Love”—set the stage for the sophomore album Forget Me Not, issued in 2024.
