Black Cobra

Having built up years of tenure alongside sludge metal icons Cavity and doom prognosticators Acid King in assorted other outfits, New York-based vocalist and guitarist Jason Landrian teamed with L.A.-based drummer Rafael Martinez to launch a fresh endeavor in 2001 that later took the name Black Cobra. Their self-titled EP reached the public in 2004, after which the full-length Bestial appeared in 2006 and the mini-album Feather and Stone followed in 2007; by then the pair had forged a vicious, super-distorted heavy metal machine reminiscent of Mastodon and High on Fire.
