Biography
Landon Fleischman, a native of Maryland, crafts an ethereal strain of bedroom pop as Boy Willows by juxtaposing acoustic foundations with atmospheric synth textures and electronic rhythms. His 2018 EP Woods at Night and the follow-up Oof EP in 2019 built a dedicated audience around widely streamed cuts including the hit "Flawlessa" and the evocative "Shallow Hot Springs." After signing with the Nettwerk Group, he kept issuing singles in the ensuing decade, among them the 2021 track "Tuff."
Raised in suburban Maryland, Fleischman started on guitar at age eight and absorbed an eclectic range of inspirations spanning the Kinks, Sampha, and José González. Prior experience scoring and producing for film preceded his debut as Boy Willows via the 2016 single "I'm Good." Dreamy ukulele and guitar lines intertwined with laid-back pop percussion on later numbers such as "Flawlessa," while the appealing "Shallow Hot Springs" from Oof likewise connected with streaming listeners and helped secure his Nettwerk deal. Now residing in Los Angeles, he teamed with actor and singer Dylan Minnette on the 2020 single "Fila" and released "Tuff" the following year.
