Biography
Born in Duck Springs, Alabama, Bradley Gaskin built his reputation as a neo-traditionalist country singer and songwriter. Employed hanging sheetrock for the family drywalling business to meet his financial obligations, he saw his wife upload the track “Mr. Bartender,” one of his own compositions, to MySpace. The recording reached John Rich, who expressed strong interest and asked Gaskin to join the Get Rich talent show. Gaskin’s win on the program prompted Rich to connect him with Columbia Nashville, which promptly offered a recording contract. An early devotion to traditional country had already shaped his tastes, and once he joined the drywall company he routinely spent work breaks writing lyrics. Repeated visits to Nashville yielded no breakthrough until “Mr. Bartender” on MySpace and John Rich’s involvement opened the door. Columbia then rush-released the song as a single during spring 2011.
