Biography
Country singer/songwriter James Wesley entered the world in Mound Valley, Kansas, where he spent his formative years. Warner Bros. first brought him aboard in 1999 under the name James Prosser, issuing the album Life Goes On prior to his adoption of the Wesley stage name. Once he settled in Nashville, he began working with songwriter Rodney Clawson and producer Dan Frizsell, secured a contract with Broken Bow Records, and put out the single “Jackson Hole.” That track entered the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart at position 54, with the follow-up single “Real” arriving in 2010. A surge in visibility came in 2011 when he served as opening act for a pair of dates on superstar Taylor Swift’s Speak Now tour. Additional roadwork and further singles built momentum toward his long-postponed debut album for Broken Bow, Real, highlighted by the summer 2015 release of “Hooked Up.”
