Hailing from Denmark, the English-language singer and songwriter Brinck issued his first solo album in 2008. Niels Brinck entered the world in 1975 in Åbyhøj, a suburb of Aarhus, Denmark, and that year marked a period of sudden prominence both on his own and through material he supplied for other acts. His opening full-length effort, Brinck, climbed to a Top Ten position on the Danish albums chart. Issued by Copenhagen Records, the self-titled set contains the Top 20 single “I Don’t Wanna Love Her” together with the Top 40 single “In the End I Started,” a duet recorded with Swedish singer Maria Marcus that served as the theme for the second season of the globally popular crime series Anna Pihl. In 2008 Brinck also earned songwriting credit for “The 1,” a chart-topping hit delivered by pop singer Martin, the 15-year-old sensation who captured the first season of the Danish edition of the internationally broadcast talent show The X Factor.
