Calum

Born in Granada, Spain, to an Irish father and an Andalusian mother, Calum Heaslip first gained notice at age twelve while competing on the Spanish television program La Voz Kids. He grew up in Palma de Mallorca, where guitar instruction began at five and occasional performances alongside his musician father helped build the assurance needed to try out for the show's inaugural season in 2014. Although the young singer did not reach the final rounds, his onstage charisma attracted Pep's Music Group, the label that issued his debut single, the pop party anthem "Turn It Up," later that year. Early in 2015 the album Hey Babe! appeared under the name Calum; produced by Daniel Embrojo Bisbal and blending Spanish- and English-language teen pop tracks, it reached the top of the Spanish album chart.
