Zachary Knowles

Hailing from Texas, Zachary Knowles blends sincere acoustic songwriting with ethereal bedroom electronic pop that sometimes slips into understated R&B. Enough streams accumulated on his independently issued 2018 EP Feelings to land a deal with Fader, which released the Magnolia EP in 2020. Later tracks such as “Carpool” and “Dancing in the Kitchen” strengthened his profile for laid-back summer pop.

Raised in Magnolia, Texas, Knowles began on a light-up keyboard given to him by his parents. While still in high school he recorded songs at home and uploaded them to streaming platforms. Encouraged by early listener response, he upgraded his production approach and, during his freshman year of college, issued singles whose sleek, airy sound paired acoustic guitar riffs with yearning vocals and atmospheric beats. “Slow Down My Thoughts,” from the 2018 Feelings EP, became a streaming hit that led to his Fader signing and to the 2020 Magnolia EP, which included the tracks “Ghost” and “Cherry Wine.” Further singles arrived in 2021, among them “Johnny & June” and “Dancing in the Kitchen.”
