Biography
Latin pop singer/songwriter Carlos Ponce entered the world in Santurce before being raised in Huamaco, Puerto Rico, where he first stepped before cameras as an advertising actor at six and later relocated to Miami in 1986. Following studies at the New World School of the Arts, he joined the cast of the Latin soap opera Guadalupe and shortly afterward took the helm as host of Univisión's Control. In 1997 Carlos Ponce inked a deal with EMI Latin and released his self-titled debut album, produced by Emilio Estefan Jr. and spotlighting the hit singles "Rezo" and "Decir Adios." He also secured recurring parts on the American series Beverly Hills 90210 and 7th Heaven. The year 2001 brought a collaboration with Joy Enriquez on the track "Bella Notte," cut for the Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure soundtrack. Carlos Ponce subsequently resumed his on-screen work in Sin Pecado Cocebido.
