Noel Schajris, born Nahuel Schajris Rodríguez on June 19, 1974, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a singer, songwriter, and pianist who relocated to Mexico and first achieved widespread recognition through the duo Sin Bandera in the early and middle years of the 2000s, later pursuing independent projects toward the close of that decade. After training at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música, he settled in Mexico during 1997. His initial solo effort, Cita en las Nubes, appeared on Sony Music México in 1999 and featured the track “Ilumíname,” reflecting an R&B approach that ultimately failed to register strong sales.

He soon partnered with singer and songwriter Leonel García to establish Sin Bandera. Retaining the R&B foundation heard on his debut, the pair combined Schajris’s piano work and García’s guitar with shared vocals. Working alongside producer Aureo Baqueiro, they completed their self-titled first album for Sony Music. The blues-inflected opening single “Entra en Mi Vida,” issued in 2001, quickly became a major success after serving as the central theme for the Mexican telenovela Cuando Seas Mía. The full project reached stores in 2002 and yielded additional hits such as “Kilómetros” and “Sirena.”

Their follow-up, De Viaje, arrived in 2003 and proved equally popular, generating further chart successes that included three Mexican number-one singles: “Mientes Tan Bien,” “Que Lloro,” and “Amor Real.” The duo sustained its momentum across the subsequent releases Mañana in 2005 and Pasado in 2006, which respectively introduced the singles “Suelta Mi Mano” and “Si Tú No Estás Aquí.” Following their 2007 disbandment, the greatest-hits collection Hasta Ahora was issued. Schajris then returned to solo work, capturing his second album, Uno No Es Uno, at London’s Abbey Road studios in 2009 under the guidance of producer Sebastián Krys.
