Biography
During the middle years of the 1990s, R&B often reflected a divide between two artist types: rappers supported by hip-hop beats and soul-rooted singers likewise aligned with hip-hop productions. The Bay Area duo Christión stood out as one of the uncommon non-rapping acts granted the smartly crafted productions associated with stronger rap releases. Their debut single, "Full of Smoke," surfaced in 1996 on Roc A Fella Records, securing Christión a Def Jam agreement that yielded the 1997 album Ghetto Cyrano.
