Polish black metal outfit Devilish Impressions came into existence on an official basis during November 2000. The founding members—Quazarre handling vocals, guitars, and synths, alongside Turquoissa on synths and Starash on guitars—issued their debut effort as a self-released recording titled Eritis Sicut Deus; Verbum Diaboli Manet in Aeternum; Vox Vespertilio Act I -- Moon Var Dies Irae during 2002. To prepare for the follow-up full-length in 2005, the group brought aboard bassist Adrian Nefarious together with drummer Dragor from Luna Ad Noctum. Their resulting album Plurima Mortis Imago proved compelling enough to secure a contract with Conquer Records, which issued the material toward the close of 2006. Shortly afterward, personnel shifts occurred when Adrian Nefarious exited, prompting Starash to switch to bass while Abused Majesty drummer Icanraz stepped in for Dragor; guitarist Armers was also welcomed into the fold. A period of live activity ensued, highlighted by an appearance at an English black metal festival, after which the band prepared to reenter the studio by 2007. During summer sessions that year, Devilish Impressions captured their third album Diabolicanos, Act III: Armageddon. Ahead of its commercial release in the first weeks of 2008, the outfit joined the legendary Polish metal band Vader on tour and also headlined their own initial run of dates across Ukraine and Moldova.
