Doe B

Recognizable by the eye patch he always wore and the fluid narratives he spun about life on the streets, Doe B aligned himself with Grand Hustle until a barroom shooting ended his career. Born Glenn Thomas in Montgomery, Alabama, the rapper launched his first mixtapes in 2012 through collaborations with DJs including Frank White and DJ Scream. Also in 2012 he joined T.I.’s Grand Hustle roster, which issued his Baby Jesus project the following year. On December 28, 2013, Doe B was fatally shot during a fight inside a Montgomery bar that claimed one additional life and wounded six other people. Early in 2014 the posthumous mixtape D.O.A.T. 3 (Definition of a Trapper) surfaced and reached the Billboard 200.
