Rapper Peewee Longway blends threat with wit throughout his vividly detailed rhymes. As the final MC added to Gucci Mane’s 1017 roster before the label head began a prison term, the MPA BandCamp leader emerged as one of the decade’s most productive artists. He first appeared alongside Gucci on the 2013 joint mixtape Money, Pounds, Ammunition and followed with at least nine further tapes before issuing his debut studio album, Mr. Blue Benjamin, in 2016, the first of his projects to reach the Billboard charts. The 2019 collaborative effort Long Money, shared with Money Man, placed him on the Billboard 200. By decade’s end the Money, Pounds, Ammunition series had become a trilogy, while the Blue M&M series had reached four volumes. Entering the 2020s, Peewee independently released the full-lengths Longway Recipe and Live a Lil, both in 2022, then Who Am I? in 2023.

Nephew of fellow rapper Coldblooded Da Don, Peewee Longway surfaced in 2013 on Money, Pounds, Ammunition, a joint project with his early champion Gucci Mane that appeared on the 1017 label. That same year his MPA BandCamp crew, whose loose roster exceeded a dozen members, also made its debut. The first Blue M&M installment and additional joint tapes with Gucci, including Felix Brothers that also featured Young Dolph, arrived among his numerous 2013 and 2014 releases. Two of his most prominent tracks, the Dolph-assisted “Preach It” and “Quarterback” with Young Thug and Migos, anchored his active 2015 schedule. Remaining equally busy the following year, he first expanded his catalog with the proper debut album Mr. Blue Benjamin, which debuted at number 39 on Billboard’s R&B/hip-hop chart and included guest verses from Gucci, Dolph, Wiz Khalifa, and Juicy J. He closed 2016 with the Longway Sinatra mixtape, a joint release with Cassius Jay.

Releases such as Blue M&M 3, Spaghetti Factory, and State of the Art surfaced across 2017 and 2018, with “Rerocc” from the opening project quickly ranking among Peewee’s strongest cuts. In 2019 he delivered the fourth Blue M&M installment and paired with Money Man on Long Money, whose lean single “Ooowwweee” helped the set reach number 23 on the R&B/hip-hop chart and number 45 on the Billboard 200. Less prolific than usual over the ensuing years, he reunited with Cassius Jay for 2021’s Longway Sinatra 2, then issued Longway Recipe and Live a Lil in 2022 before returning in 2023 with Who Am I?, led by its title-track single.
