Cleveland-born, Atlanta-based rapper Doe Boy blends a modern approach with gangster-rap roots, relying on sharp delivery, streetwise boasts, and consistent strength across his independently dropped mixtapes. Early self-released projects featured production from Lex Luger, whose hard-edged trap beats helped secure a contract with Future’s Freebandz imprint. Doe Boy maintained a steady output that drew wider notice when he joined Future and Meek Mill on the 2019 track “100 Shooters,” while projects such as the 2018 Young Thug-executive-produced 88 Birdz and the 2022 Oh Really—swiftly amassing millions of streams and topping Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart—kept his momentum high. He followed with the 2023 full-length Beezy.

An initial endorsement from trap originator Lex Luger paved Doe Boy’s entry into rap with the 2010 debut mixtape Since 1994. It was over Lex’s brash beats, however, that the then-18-year-old established himself, showcasing nimble flows and a forceful voice on the joint Boyz N Da Hood. Those assured tales of luxury and street existence led Atlanta rapper Future to sign him to Freebandz after the 2012 sequel Boyz N Da Hood 2, which carried additional production from Young Chop.

Under the Freebandz banner, Doe Boy capitalized on Future’s growing profile. For the Future-hosted In Freebandz We Trust he recruited rising producers including DJ Esco and Metro Boomin, using the set both to refresh earlier cuts such as “What You Mean” and “See Dat Ass” and to explore his label head’s innovative sound. A 2013 prison term interrupted his progress, yet the interim release Free Doe Boy sustained his visibility. When Doe Boy resurfaced in 2016 with his fifth project, Streetz Need Me, beats from Luger, Esco, and B Wheezy supported his adoption of Auto-Tune, rapid ad-libs, and looping cadences suited to the quicker trap then dominant.

Continuing to map his role in the late-2010s landscape, Doe Boy issued a burst of mixtapes between 2017 and 2018—In Freebandz We Trust 2, Codeine Confessions, 88 Birdz (with TM88), No Worries, and The Bandprint. The 2018 hit “Walk Down” gained further traction via a 2019 YG-assisted remix that appeared on his eleventh mixtape, Streetz Need Me 2. That collection, featuring Gunna, Young Thug, Key Glock, and comedic interludes from Mike Epps, mixed nostalgic anthems with current fare. In July 2019 Doe Boy contributed to “100 Shooters,” the lead single from Future’s High Off Life, an album that arrived nearly a year afterward.

Doe Boy rejoined Esco for the 2020 mixtape 56 Birdz and also collaborated with Southside on Demons R Us. Throughout 2021 he dropped several joint singles, among them the Lil Uzi Vert-featured “Low Key” and multiple tracks with Rowdy Rebel. The 2022 mixtape Oh Really, which drew appearances from Roddy Ricch, 42 Dugg, G Herbo, and additional guests, quickly charted after racking up tens of millions of streams. Months later he issued the brief Catch Me If You Can in July 2022. That September he reunited with G Herbo and Roddy Ricch on the Mustard-produced “Ghetto Superstar.” The full-length Beezy arrived in June 2023, showcasing guests such as Babyface, Future, Don Toliver, and others.
