Orlando, Florida rapper Hotboii relies on striking videos to bring his intense yet melodic rap tracks to broader listeners. After putting out singles on his own, he partnered with Hitmaker Music Group to issue the 2020 mixtape Kut Da Fan On. His debut studio album Double O Baby from 2020 and the follow-up Life of a Hotboii from 2021 both led Billboard’s Heatseekers chart, whereas Blinded by Death, released in 2022, climbed into the upper half of the Billboard 200.

Raised in West Orlando, Hotboii began rapping at age 15. Backed by his mother’s financial and emotional encouragement, he started sharing music in 2016 and honed his approach on early cuts such as “Switcharoo” and “LowKey.” Over the ensuing years both his delivery and visual style matured, drawing widespread notice with 2019’s “YG’s” thanks in part to its engaging videos. Several tracks gained viral traction, prompting a 2020 deal with Hitmaker Music Group that yielded the mixtape Kut Da Fan On. Among its tracks was “Don’t Need Time,” a somber tribute to lost friends that stood as his biggest hit to date. Later that year Double O Baby arrived, featuring appearances from Lil Mosey and Toosii, and topped the Heatseekers chart. In 2021 Hotboii collaborated with Future on the single “Nobody Special,” then scored another chart leader with his second LP, Life of a Hotboii. Blinded by Death came out in July 2022 and peaked at number 89 on the Billboard 200. Additional singles followed in 2023, among them “NASA” featuring ATL Jacob.
