Slatt Zy

Tennessean rapper Slatt Zy quickly drew notice through rapid-fire rhymes, striking hooks, and gripping storylines, releasing his first two mixtapes—including the UMG-backed East Lake Projects (2020)—within just a couple years of entering the studio and well before turning 19.

Born Taizion Vinson, he discovered during his teenage years in Chattanooga that rapping extended far beyond casual interest while performing on local street corners. In 2019 he moved into professional sessions, quit his fast-food job, and built momentum through a string of independent singles. Following the 2020 release of the Zy Story mixtape on Hitmaker Music Group, he secured a licensing arrangement with UMG and maintained his pace of releases, highlighted by the TM88 collaboration “War Stories.” East Lake Projects arrived as his second project that November.
