Emerging from Jacksonville, Florida’s drill rap landscape—a style that gained ground after evolving beyond its Chicago and Brooklyn origins—Jdot Breezy ranks among the scene’s notable voices. Born Jacorey Rivers in 2001, he developed alongside local emcees including Ksoo and the late Foolio. Though he acknowledged gang affiliations and exited school early, he sidestepped the legal setbacks that ensnared many contemporaries. His recorded work opened with 2019’s Life After Ralo and expanded into a rapid succession of albums, mixtapes, and singles built around his low-voiced, twangy flow. Almost There arrived in 2020 and served as a breakthrough, driven by viral tracks such as “Shoot It Out” and “Tweak Shit, Pt. 2.” Releasing as many as three full-length projects in a single year—2021’s The Creation, Society, and The Kuran, followed by 2023’s DON’T FWM LATER, Sincerely Mad, and ENJOY THE SHOW—he has stayed prolific. 2024’s Sorry I Took Long spotlighted fan favorites “He Dead,” “Who Dat,” and “Halle Berry.”
