Foogiano

Charismatic yet impish, the Atlanta trap artist Foogiano distinguished himself through rapid-fire rhymes, a teasing cadence, and a pronounced Southern inflection. He first gained traction with the single “Molly (Baby Mama),” which later received a DaBaby-assisted remix. In 2020 he became the inaugural signee to Gucci Mane’s New 1017 imprint and quickly emerged as a centerpiece on the crew projects So Icy Summer and So Icy Gang. Later that year he unveiled his proper debut album, Gutta Baby; an expanded edition titled Gutta Baby: Reloaded followed in 2022.

Born Kwame Brown in Greensboro, Georgia, he began composing poetry during adolescence and only shifted those verses into rap after his younger brother urged him to do so. Repeated stretches behind bars culminated in a three-year incarceration. Once freed, he committed fully to music. After triumphing in a contest hosted by Authentic Empire, he inked his 2020 agreement with New 1017 and appeared on numerous cuts from So Icy Summer and So Icy Gang, Vol. 1. Closing out that hectic twelve months, he delivered Gutta Baby, a collection built on classic trap beats and his own magnetic flow that welcomed DaBaby, Lil Baby, Jacquees, Tay Keith, labelmate Pooh Shiesty, and Gucci Mane himself. The 2022 deluxe Gutta Baby: Reloaded added the tracks “Slicin,” featuring Gucci, and “Body 4 Body.”
