BigWalkDog channels the essence of Southern trap through his commanding delivery, magnetic presence, and resonant vocal timbre. International recognition arrived once he joined Gucci Mane’s New 1017 roster. Dozens of singles paved the way for his first full-length project, Trick City, which surfaced in 2022; Playoff followed the next year.

The swaggering “Pull Up” introduced his approach at the outset, pairing head-nodding cadences, brash Southern phrasing, and booming 808-driven production. Throughout 2020 the Mississippi MC strengthened his regional following via a steady stream of anthems that included the unyielding “Vibes,” the piano-driven “B.T.D.,” and the lyrically intricate “Craig Daddy,” which amassed hundreds of thousands of views. A series of early-2021 releases, highlighted by the explosive “1382,” drew the notice of Southern legend Gucci Mane. In May 2021 Gucci expanded the 1017 Records lineup—already featuring Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano under the New 1017 banner—by signing BigWalkDog. Their joint single “Poppin” marked the occasion and quickly accumulated tens of millions of streams. Additional solo tracks and guest spots on Gucci Mane recordings culminated in the 2022 arrival of Trick City, the rapper’s debut album, which reached the summit of Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. Following the deluxe edition of that project, his sophomore effort Playoff appeared in 2023.
