SahBabii blends drill rhythms with melodic trap in a dreamlike manner that echoes his Chicago origins alongside his Atlanta base, while also revealing a distinctive preoccupation with marine life. Emerging from the ATL underground, the rapper achieved platinum status via the 2016 mixtape S.A.N.D.A.S. with its standout cut “Pull Up wit Ah Stick,” then sustained his distinctive approach across subsequent projects including Squidtastic (2018) and Barnacles (2020), before issuing the albums Do It for Demon (2021) and Saaheem (2024). The latter project featured one of his signature recordings, “Lost All My Feelings,” an account of emotional detachment conveyed through an understated delivery.

Born Saaheem Valdery, he spent his first thirteen years in Chicago before relocating with his family. Exposure to the local scene, particularly Young Thug’s work, prompted early efforts that yielded the teen-era mixtapes Pimpin Ain’t Easy and Glocks & Thots. Limited response prompted an extended pause, after which SahBabii resurfaced near the close of 2016 with S.A.N.D.A.S., again produced by his brother T3. The track “Pull Up wit Ah Stick,” featuring Loso Loaded, crystallized his approach of pairing firearm imagery with sugary refrains; Warner Records subsequently secured licensing rights and issued the single commercially the next April, followed by wider distribution of the full mixtape several months later.

His time on a major label yielded only the 2018 singles “Outstanding,” a collaboration with 21 Savage, and “Watery.” SahBabii pivoted quickly that same year via the licensing arrangement introduced by “7 Squids” and the accompanying mixtape Squidtastic. An EP titled 3P surfaced in 2019, succeeded by the 2020 release Barnacles. Additional output included the single “Gates to the Sun” featuring Joji, plus a featured turn on Trippie Redd’s “Amazinggg.” Do It for Demon, his debut proper album, arrived in 2021 and drew from the loss of a longtime childhood companion. During 2022 and 2023 SahBabii issued the mixtape Leak Out along with several singles, among them “Lost All My Feelings.” That song anchored Saaheem, released in 2024 as his most introspective effort to date and one devoid of guest appearances; it debuted at number 123 on the Billboard 200.
