Jackboy

Florida rapper Pierre Delince, performing under the name Jackboy, anchors his rhymes with heavy doses of bounce and bass, a sound often likened to that of his close associate Kodak Black. Considerable attention followed the release of early mixtapes including 2016’s Stick Up Kid and 2020’s Jackboy.

After serving a brief jail term in his late teens, Delince launched his recording career by issuing the debut mixtape Stick Up Kid soon after his 2016 release. Strong reception for that first full-length effort secured him a deal with Kodak Black’s Sniper Gang imprint in 2017. A second mixtape, New Jack City, appeared next, only for another arrest on aggravated battery and robbery charges to interrupt his progress. He resurfaced two years later with the third project, 2019’s JackNDaBox, which featured Kodak Black, Rick Ross, and Piles. A further arrest later that year did not prevent the September arrival of his fourth mixtape, Lost in My Head. The fifth mixtape, the self-titled Jackboy, reached stores in April 2020 and entered Billboard’s Top Independent Albums chart at number 11.
