Biography
Eric Moo, a Malaysian-born singer, songwriter, and producer, stands among the foremost figures in Singapore’s xinyao movement that flourished from the late 1980s into the early 1990s; his accomplishments ultimately carried him to Taiwan, the heart of the Mandopop industry. He entered the world on February 9, 1963, in Kampar, Perak, Malaysia, and first achieved recognition in Singapore throughout the mid-1980s. His renown reached its highest point during the very xinyao wave he helped lead in the late ’80s and early ’90s. The year 1989 saw the arrival of his debut Cantonese crossover album, with additional releases following in the mid-1990s at the peak of his popularity, although he remained chiefly devoted to the Mandopop market and later shifted his base to Taiwan.
