Biography
Cass Phang emerged as one of Cantopop's leading figures throughout the 1990s. Growing prominence prompted her move into Mandopop, where she issued albums in both Cantonese and Mandarin from the middle of the decade onward until she left the pop music industry in 2002. Born in Hong Kong on February 2, 1969, she launched her recording career in 1990 with Rock in Records. The following year brought her initial major success through the track "I'll Wait Regardless I Was Hurt," included on the album Somewhere in Time (1991). Subsequent years saw her maintain momentum with releases on EMI from 1993 to 1998 and on Sony Music from 1998 to 2002.
