Biography
Eternal Lord came together in Swindon, England, during 2005 when former members of The Hunt for Ida Wave and Burning Skies decided to launch a new project. The deathcore band began by cutting demos intended for Thirty Days of Night Records, later securing deals with both Golf and Ferret Records that would guarantee worldwide distribution of their first full album. After issuing the self-titled EP demo and a split release with Azriel, the group received word that vocalist Sam Ricketts had left. Edward Butcher, previously of I Killed the Prom Queen, joined on vocals, while bassist Nick Gardener arrived to occupy the vacant four-string position. The remaining roster consisted of original members Stuart Mackay on drums, Chris Gregory on guitar, and Shaun Zerebecki on guitar. Following extensive touring throughout Europe and Australia, the band tracked its debut full-length LP, Blessed Be This Nightmare, which appeared in early 2008.
