Biography
London-based indie/punk outfit Feet originated with a post-punk orientation on its earliest singles before shifting toward a distinctive take on Brit-pop revivalism for the 2019 debut album What's Inside Is More Than Just Ham. Students at Coventry University established the group in 2016 under the leadership of vocalist George Haverson. Following several personnel adjustments that brought in Ben Hookings, previously of Dead Pretties, the musicians settled on a post-punk direction showcased in initial releases such as "Petty Thieving" and "Backseat Driver." Yala Records, the imprint run by former Maccabees member Felix White, subsequently signed the early recordings. During the sessions for their first full-length, the ensemble moved beyond punk roots to produce a brighter, more expansive Brit-pop sound, aided by producer Cam Blackwood whose prior credits include Jamie T, London Grammar, and George Ezra.
