Fil Bo Riva

Fil Bo Riva's birth took place in Rome, although his upbringing occurred in Dublin. A visit prompted his move to Berlin during 2012. Street performances helped sharpen his singer/songwriter skills, and he soon landed opening slots with Matt Corby and Aurora. An introduction to producer Robert Stephenson yielded his earliest recordings. His emotionally raw delivery and gravelly vocals, echoing Tom Waits, drew interest from PIAS Germany and led to a contract in 2016. Weeks afterward came the release of "Like Eye Did," the first song from those sessions, followed by the EP If You're Right, It's Alright that September. Heavy touring filled the months after the EP, yet he carved out space to compose and track his debut album, Beautiful Sadness, which arrived in 2019.
