Ginette Claudette, a contemporary R&B singer and songwriter, endured an unsatisfying stint at Universal Motown before issuing independent material that included the 2014 project Tainted Emotions, the 2015 release All the Way Back, and multiple singles centered on yearning ballads. A native of New York City, she inherited her musical path from her mother, a pop vocalist who performed in the Dominican Republic. Active as a performer from early childhood, Claudette drew label interest after sharing cover versions on YouTube through social media. She secured a contract with Universal Motown in 2010, yet the label sought to redirect the artist—whose influences encompassed TLC, SWV, and Aaliyah—toward pop. Although the deal yielded no official recordings, it fostered a lasting creative bond with songwriter and producer August Rigo. Claudette earned a songwriting credit on Melanie Fiona’s 2012 track “Rock Paper Scissors” and, the next year, teamed with Rigo for Justine Skye’s Everyday Living EP. Her debut album, Tainted Emotions, appeared in 2014 on the artist’s own SummerChild imprint and was licensed for Japan by Manhattan Recordings. She maintained her solo focus with the All the Way Back EP in 2015 before resurfacing in 2018 via the singles “Twisted” and “True.”
