Biography
Drawing from late-'70s proto metal, early-'70s prog, and '60s psychedelic rock, Heavy Hands once channeled Steppenwolf itself for a Halloween show. The band cites Can, Hawkwind, Deep Purple, Blue Cheer, and 13th Floor Elevators among its touchstones. As a stoner rock power trio, Sterling, Mitch, and Matt appear under the monikers Ambassador Hazy, Mystical Revelation, and Cristal Voyager. In 2008 founder of the Drag City subsidiary Language of Stone Greg Weeks signed the group to the roster, and their debut album Smoke Signals arrived that October.
