Biography
Hell Within, the metal outfit headquartered in Lowell, Massachusetts, traces its roots to an earlier group called Twytch. That precursor outfit put out an independent album and EP, after which lineup shifts prompted the remaining members to select a fresh name precisely when they inked their deal with Lifeforce Records. The current quintet—vocalist Matt McChesney, guitarists Isaias Martinez and Tony Zimmerman, bassist Joe Martinez, and drummer Brian Joyce—has since delivered two full-lengths on the imprint: Asylum of the Human Predator in 2005 and Shadows of Vanity in 2007. Both efforts reflect the New England metalcore environment that first shaped the band.
