Biography
Jasiah works as a producer, songwriter, and vocalist while declining the rapper designation, earning notice above all for his sharp scream even as he also performs somber ballads. He compiled a limited body of recordings before attaining broader attention in 2019, a period that reached its high point with the eleven-track release Jasiah I Am. Afterward he sustained regular delivery of distinctive singles, several of which were collected on the 2021 project War. Songs such as the 1nonly collaboration "Ghostkilla" arrived ahead of his next full-length effort, 3, which appeared in 2023.
Malachi Pate issued early material under multiple names, among them Phreetherapper and slight variants plus Ja$iah, prior to using Jasiah. The Dayton, Ohio native reached a turning point in March 2019 when a Cole Bennett-directed clip for the hostile track "Crisis," originally issued the prior year, was uploaded and swiftly drew millions of views. Warner Music Group supplied distribution for the comparably aggressive April single "Case 19" featuring 6ix9ine and likewise backed the July arrival of Jasiah I Am. The short project contained "Case 19" yet excluded "Crisis" while exposing wider dimensions of the artist, ranging from the emotional ballad "Heartbreak" recorded with Travis Barker to the warped trap-metal hybrid "I'm Depressed." In 2020 Jasiah generated assorted singles such as "Break Shit" and "Surf's Up," both later placed on War, his 2021 follow-up. After that April release he kept issuing singles including "Deserve," "I Love It," and "Lockdown." The productive sequence continued into 2022, opening with a guest spot on Grandson and Steve Aoki's "Kult" before his own "Earthquake" featuring jxdn. Early 2023 brought two widely streamed joint tracks with 1Nonly, "Ghostkilla" and "Step Back!," the latter also featuring SXMPRA. His third project, the full-length 3, surfaced that March.
