Joseph of Mercury

Joseph W. Salusbury, operating under the Joseph of Mercury name, crafts stylish, brooding pop as a Toronto-based singer, songwriter, and producer by fusing stark electronic environments with emotive vocal delivery. He first circulated music in 2013 as Joseph & the Mercurials and gained early notice via the single "I Want What I Want." Salusbury then devoted the following years to behind-the-scenes work, co-writing material for Majid Jordan and Illangelo while collecting production credits and refining his own songs privately. In February 2017 he resurfaced under the Joseph of Mercury banner with "Without Words," a track that combined his taste for classic crooner pop and dreamy electronic-oriented production. Further singles appeared across the remainder of the year, each extending that same aesthetic.
