Biography
Juliet Simms, a Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter, first drew widespread attention as a contestant during the 2012 season of NBC’s reality talent series The Voice. Born in San Francisco, she secured an early breakthrough in 2006 when several tracks she had recorded and posted on MySpace were licensed by MTV for placement on The Real World and Road Rules. Simms also performs with the melodic rock band Automatic Loveletter, which features her brother Tommy Simms on bass and as producer. The group cut an EP, performed twice on the Vans Warped Tour, and issued its full-length album The Kids Will Take Their Monsters On through the independent label Paper & Plastick in 2011. While competing as a finalist on the 2012 edition of The Voice, her version of The Police’s “Roxanne” reached the top of the digital pop charts.
