Biography
Originating in Cali, Colombia, Junior Zamora works as a vocalist, composer, producer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist within Latin R&B. He first appeared in the early 2010s through membership in the Alto Volumen crew, then shifted to solo work near 2018 while shaping a personal strain of contemporary R&B that blends Latin touches with elements of soul, blues, salsa, and electronica. Nearly a decade after his start, he issued his debut album Ego via self-release in 2022. The four EPs he delivered throughout 2023, which featured multiple collaborations with rap- and urbano-focused artists, together with his sets at several festivals, lifted his profile sufficiently to draw attention from Sony Music Colombia. Further elevation arrived with his designation as Viva Latino’s Artist to Watch for 2024, an honor previously granted to later Latin pop figures such as Emilia Mernes, Villano Antillano, and Tokischa. After lead singles “Hielo” and “Salsa y Clase,” his second album was slated for late 2024.
