Biography
Kaya Stewart crafts soulful, synth-driven pop and R&B as her primary artistic focus. Although born in London, she spent her formative years in Los Angeles surrounded by a family deeply engaged in music and the arts. While still in her teens she began composing and performing original material with the goal of completing a full studio album. Her first onstage appearance took place in April 2013 at the Troubadour in West Hollywood. The gospel-tinged single “In Love with a Boy” arrived in mid-2015, after which she embarked on the Warped Tour. Later that July her debut EP appeared, its tracks shaped by her father, the guitarist, songwriter, and producer Dave Stewart. In 2016 she issued her first full-length album, Kaya Stewart, which included the track “Sleepover.”
