Kenny Holland displayed an early aptitude for songwriting as a pop musician and actor. Michigan was his birthplace, though he grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, where public performances began at age eight and a sizable regional following plus a knack for memorable melodies emerged by his mid-teens. His debut solo album Heart & Keys, a collection of rock-infused teen pop, appeared under his own imprint in 2012. Social media became the outlet for numerous live covers of popular songs that drew millions of views and earned him supporting slots on tours with Aaron Carter and Demi Lovato. In 2015 he joined forces with Wesley Stromberg of Emblem3 to create the Balcony, whose single "Fire" surfaced that summer. Later the same year he issued his own pop-rap track "Lifeline," which found a place on the self-released EP B.O.A.T.S. (Based on a True Story) in May 2016. By then he had settled in Los Angeles and landed the lead in the independent sci-fi musical film Saturday's Warrior, which reached theaters in limited release around the same moment.
